Study Smarter, Not Harder
Many students spend long hours studying but still fail WAEC. The problem is not time — it is method. Here are research-backed techniques that actually work.
The Spaced Repetition Method
Instead of studying the same material for hours in one sitting, review it across multiple sessions with increasing gaps. Your brain retains information far better this way. Use the schedule: Day 1, Day 3, Day 7, Day 14, Day 30.
Active Recall Over Passive Reading
Do not just read your notes. Close the book, then try to recall what you just read. Write it down. This forces your brain to work harder and creates stronger memory pathways.
Past Questions First
Always start your revision by attempting past questions on the topic, not by reading. This shows you what the examiner cares about and makes your reading more focused.
The Pomodoro Technique
Study for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break. After 4 rounds, take a longer 20-minute break. This prevents mental fatigue and keeps your focus sharp.
Group Study — Done Right
Study groups work best when each member teaches the others. Teaching a concept is the fastest way to identify gaps in your own understanding.
