What Is JAMB CBT?
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME has been fully computer-based since 2015. Candidates sit the exam at designated Computer-Based Testing (CBT) centres across Nigeria. The exam tests four subjects in 2 hours.
Why CBT Practice Is Non-Negotiable
Many students who know their subjects still perform poorly in JAMB CBT because they are unfamiliar with the interface, the pacing, and the pressure of working on a computer under time constraints. Practising on a CBT platform eliminates this anxiety before exam day.
What to Expect on Exam Day
- 180 questions across 4 subjects
- 2 hours total (average of 40 seconds per question)
- Multiple choice only — one correct answer per question
- No negative marking
- Questions displayed one at a time; you can flag and return to questions
A 12-Week JAMB CBT Preparation Plan
Weeks 1–4: Foundation
Cover the entire syllabus for each subject. Use textbooks and notes. Take one untimed past paper per week per subject to identify gaps.
Weeks 5–8: Practice
Attempt one timed full mock exam per day. Review all wrong answers. Focus extra time on your two weakest subjects.
Weeks 9–12: Mastery
Take two full mock exams per day. Focus on your top two worst-performing topics. Track your score trend — it should be rising weekly.
